Update: Base application working!
Posted by: Growly BearGood News. I made some great progress. The base application is working.
Logins for both staff work nicely.
New Users can register.
Users and staff can reply.
Users can close tickets.
Tickets show how long they have been open for staff to monitor.
update on progress
Posted by: Growly BearJust a short update.
1)Login for staff done. Login & registration for clients done.
2)Posting of tickets done.
Personal note:
I hate haveing to edit the DB each time i want to change something.
It is like "can't I have the idea before i impliment a change?"
Planning Stage
Posted by: Growly BearThe Help Desk Application I'm working on is basic.
Sign up, post your problem, staff will answer. (in theory that works)
Users have to login to view their "tickets". Click on a link to read the ticket in detail. Receive email that someone has replied to their ticket(s) and so on and so forth.
Staff have to login to see open tickets pertaining to their department. Select a ticket, which then is entered into a list of tickets which they are handling.
Admin can obviously see all but do not handle tickets unless forced to. heh
At present I'm developing this app using MySQL (too bad JJ, no MS Sql)
Most of the coding uses CFCs, I'm not do the "factory" stuff as I cannot see a need to yet.
Interested parties can let me know it they want to help.
Welcome to my world

It will be simple as I am doing this for fun.
