Google, Yahoo, Microsoft Agree On Web Site Mapping Standard
Posted by: Megan GarrisonI just read an article on this over at Dr. Dobbs - evidently the three companies all plan to support Sitemaps .90, a protocol that lets Web publishers inform search engines about content on their sites. Based at Sitemaps.org, the system instructs web masters on how to install an XML file on their servers that all three engines can use to track updates to pages. If you already use Google Sitemaps , you won’t need to change anything, those maps will now be indexed by Yahoo and Microsoft.
